This etching was created around 1980 when John and I experimented with creating a colored plate in addition to the black plate. Usually the color plate would carry more than one color -if the colors were far enough apart from each other so as not to mix the colors when wiping the plate. This etching I believe had three plates. One for a yellow ochre color done in aquatint, a second, which carried the blue aquatint, and a third for a dark brown/black ink etching. By the overlaying of the various colored areas,a variety of colors were created to create this interesting and rare etching.
