When I take a moment for reflection I can imagine the simple joy of sitting in a rocking chair on a porch such as this. In my reverie, I see geraniums thriving in a planter on the porch rail, a patch of daylilies near the steps and a tree providing bountiful shade. The only sound is that of the breeze rustling through the leaves.
Perhaps I will ride my bicycle down country lanes to the village nestled in the distant hills, or brush that leaf off the step, then stretch out on the warm grass. Or perhaps I will stay in this comfortable timeworn chair and bask in the perfection of this day. All of these things can happen when I return to this dream again and again. |
