When we are children, summer is an eternity - endless days of lazy warmth and cicadas singing, of swimming at the lake and pony rides and skinned knees. But when we have more life under our belts, we wonder how summer goes by so quickly. In the midst of its humid rush, we pause for a few moments to pick the sweet peas and keep the cat amused. These are the moments I try to capture in my art. I like to imagine inspiring the viewer to take a break from their fast-paced world to contemplate the years past and the beauty and simplicity of nature. |
