I have occasionally used the same title for an image, but only for a different scene on a different size plate. For instance you may have an etching titled "Winter Moon" but can't find it here. In that case, yours is "out of print" and a totally different scene. It would be nice to get everything I ever created posted and in time perhaps I will show the more than 300 etchings I have created in the past 40 years. I am showing mainly currently available artwork for sale. I added a Collectors Items page and made available some "out of print" work, which I had one or two prints left in my portfolio. When these older works sell I will leave the images up to view.

VALUE OF OLDER EDITIONS FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES

A conservative estimate would be to price older pieces, the same as current etchings of a similar size. However, "Out of Print" work is valued higher, often more than twice as much as the estimates for current etchings. Very early sold out work would be valued even higher.

Generally, the price of the etchings is determined by the size of the copper plate. Following is a list of the most common plate sizes* I've used, with prices for current etchings. This is for the artwork only. If your artwork is matted and framed you would have to evaluate that cost and that could vary greatly.

* The copper plates are beveled to prevent the sharp edges from cutting the felt blankets during printing. This reduces the size of the plate up to 1/4 inch each dimension. In addition, the wet etching paper will shrink slightly when drying.

Giclee prints on paper include double-mats in standard frame sizes and are shipped flat. Giclee prints on canvas are sold unframed and unmatted and shipped rolled in a heavy duty tube.
