Early Autumn was created in 1994. This is the first proof taken after the aquatint technique was etched over the line etching. This uncolored proof is very rich and stands alone as a striking black and white image. This is the only print taken in this state. Right after this proof was taken I burnished areas of the copper plate to lighten them so the watercolor washes on the prints I would paint, would not be overpowered by the etching. |
